Recent Garage Sale and Thrift Store Finds

Pinterest postGarage sales are tapering off with the cooler weather. You can still find one here and there, and church sales are still around since they are inside a building. When there aren’t garage sales to go to, we like to go to thrift stores. Thrift stores can be pricier than garage sales, but you can still find some awesome things at them. Here are some of our recent garage sale and thrift store finds from the last few months.

Although you can still find great items at both garage sales and thrift stores, know that there will be days where you might not find anything. Don’t let this discourage you in continuing to shop.

1. Lighted Ceramic Christmas Tree

ceramic Christmas tree

These trees were real popular back in the 1970’s. Last year, some stores offered a small, battery-operated version for about $30.

I found this one at a fall yard sale for $3. It is a large one at 18″ tall. A few bulbs and the star on top are missing, but you can get new bulbs at craft stores.

2. Sheer Cardigan

The sheer cardigans with prints on them are really nice to dress up an outfit. They are one-size fits all for a lot of brands.

I bought this one at a garage sale recently for 75¢.

3. Comic Books

I found a bunch of comic books at a church sale at the end of August. There were 25-30 in a stack with no price. I asked the lady at the sale and she said, “How about a dollar for all?”

These were all from the 60’s and 70’s, and most of them were in good condition.

A couple of them—”The Partridge Family” and “Josie and the Pussycats” were first issues.

4. Goosebumps Books

Goosebumps books

At the same church sale where I found the comic books, I bought 60 Goosebumps books at 20¢ each.

I have already sold all of them for $1 each or more.

5. Jurassic Park Board Game

Jurassic park game

I found this 1992 Jurassic Park game at a thrift store about three weeks ago. It is only the second time I have ever seen it. I was able to buy it for $2.

6. Cadaco All-Star Baseball Game

all star baseball game

I picked up this baseball game at the same time I found the Jurassic Park game at the thrift store.

It was also $2. It is from 1968 and had some big name players in the game such as Pete Rose, Reggie Jackson, and Nolan Ryan.

7. View-Master Viewer and Reels

View Masters

I bought this old View-Master viewer with reels at a church sale for 50¢. It was in very good condition.

8. Vintage Dishes

My daughter bought these vintage dishes, which are part of a set, last weekend at a church sale. The whole set was only $3. She is keeping them.

9. Fisher Price People & Pieces

Fisher Price people

These vintage Little People and pieces were in a bag along with a few other things for only 25¢.

These people are getting harder to find and are never this cheap.

10. Records

Pink Floyd record

I usually don’t find cheap records anymore, but I found some nice ones at a thrift store recently. They were four for $1, and I actually found some that are harder to find (70’s rock such as Eagles, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, and Bob Seger). All the records were near mint.
