Banana Pudding Instructions
You can make this banana pudding recipe all in one container, or if you are looking to do something a little fancier, you can make the pudding into little parfaits. We are including pictures of this recipe prepared both ways.
Step 1: Make the pudding
Follow the directions on the banana pudding boxes.
We used 4 cups of milk for the 2 boxes of banana pudding. Do whatever the instructions tell you to do.
After you mix the banana pudding mix with the milk, you need to refrigerate the pudding for 5 to 10 minutes. You want it to be thicker, but not too thick.
Step 2: Put a layer of vanilla wafers
If you are making a whole container of banana pudding, create a layer of vanilla wafer cookies on the bottom.
If you are making this banana pudding recipe into parfaits, you will want to put one or two cookies in the bottom of each cup (it will make approximately 8 cups).
You could crush up the cookies in the bottom of the cup, but it will probably get soggy faster.
Step 3: Add a layer of pudding
Cover your cookies completely with the pudding.
If you’re making parfaits, just add a little bit of pudding to cover up your cookies.
Step 4: Slice and add bananas
Cut up your bananas into slices.
Layer your bananas over all the pudding. You can save a few slices for the top if you would like.
If you are making parfaits, add a few slices on top of the pudding.
Step 5: Add whipped topping & serve!
The last step is to add whipped topping all over the bananas.
You can also add more cookies and banana slices to the top.
For parfaits, you will add a layer of whipped topping.
Then, you will repeat your layers until you have three layers of each item.
Serve cold and refrigerate leftovers.
