Easy Fruit Fluff Salad Directions
Although there are 3 kinds of this fruit fluff salad, each one is made the same way with just a couple different ingredients.
I am going to walk you through making one kind, and then I’ll give you the ingredients for all 3 recipes.
Step 1: Stir Cool Whip & Cottage Cheese
Add 8 ounces of Cool Whip and 16 ounces of small curd cottage cheese in a medium sized bowl.
The Cool Whip can be a different brand, and it is fine to use the light version. Make sure it is not frozen when you use it.
You could use large curd cottage cheese instead of small curd, but I like the texture better with the small curd.
Step 2: Add Jell-O Mix
Depending on which fruit fluff salad you are making, you will need to use the flavor that matches the fruit.
For blueberries, use berry blue Jell-O mix.
For strawberries, use strawberry Jell-O mix.
And for the mandarin oranges, use orange Jell-O mix.
You can use another brand mix. Just make sure you don’t use sugar free because it won’t taste good.
Stir in the mix until all the powdered is mixed in.
Step 3: Add Fruit
If you are making blueberry fruit fluff salad, you will need about 1/2 a pint of fresh blueberries.
You can use frozen blueberries instead, but they need to be thawed out some.
For strawberry fruit fluff salad, you will need around 1 cup of sliced strawberries. You can add more if you would like.
If you are making orange fruit fluff salad, you will need a 15 ounce can of mandarin oranges. They will need to be drained before you add them.
Stir the fruit into the mixture until it is combined.
Step 4: Refrigerate
You will need to refrigerate the fruit fluff salad for about 20 minutes before serving.
This allows it to thicken up.
The fruit fluff salads are best if eaten on the first day. You can refrigerate it, but you should eat it within the first couple days.
