How to Make Easy Turkey Applejack Wraps
We usually prepare 3 to 4 at a time so that they can cook together.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter what order you put the ingredients on the tortillas, but we will show you how we did it.
We also don’t actually measure any of these ingredients, so all of the proportions are subjective to how much you like the ingredients 🙂
Ingredients
- tortillas
- turkey lunchmeat
- shredded cheddar or colby jack cheese
- bacon bits
- onion
- mushrooms
- apple butter
- mayonnaise
- dried basil
- cooking spray
Step 1: Spread Mayonnaise & Sprinkle Basil
Spread mayonnaise onto your tortillas. We use about a tablespoon per tortilla.
After you spread the mayonnaise, sprinkle dried basil over it. We don’t measure it out, but instead just shake some out until it looks about right.
Step 2: Sprinkle on the Bacon!
We use about 2 tablespoons of bacon per tortilla.
You can cook bacon, or you can use pre-cooked bacon or bacon bits.
We like bacon bits just fine, and it saves us a lot of time.
Step 3: Add the Turkey
Depending on the lunch meat you get, you can choose how many slices you want to put on each wrap.
We usually put 2 if they are large and 3 if they are smaller.
Step 4: Spread on the Apple Butter
One of the ingredients that makes these wraps unique is the apple butter.
You can find apple butter near the peanut butter and jelly at stores.
We spread about a tablespoon of apple butter on the turkey of each wrap.
Step 5: Add Cheese
We typically use around a bag of shredded cheese (8 ounces) for all of our wraps, but you can put as much or as little cheese on them as you would like.
Step 6: Add the Mushrooms & Onions
We cut up mushrooms and onions into slices like the ones pictured below.
Add a little bit to each wrap, but really it is personal preference how much of each ingredient to use.
We have tried using red onion before, and it was too strong for our taste.
The mushrooms are just white mushrooms cut. You can also buy pre-sliced mushrooms.
Step 7: Roll up the Wraps & Cook them
After you roll up the tortillas, spray your pan with cooking spray.
Place the rolled up wraps into the pan, and then spray the tops of them with cooking spray.
Cook on medium heat until they start to brown.
Flip the wraps to cook both sides.
Step 8: Enjoy!
You can eat them as is, or you can dip them into honey mustard or ranch!
