Things to do at Manatee Park
There are lots of areas to view wildlife here, but the main attraction is the manatees.
The manatees come into the warm water, which is part of Florida Power and Light.
They are not generally around in the summer because the water is too warm. The best months for viewing are December, January, and February. Depending on when you visit, you can see hundreds of manatees.
There are other things to do in the park as well. There is a butterfly garden that attracts a variety of butterflies. You can view other wildlife, and there are picnic areas.
You can also rent kayaks or canoes. There is information about manatees and other wildlife located around the park, so it is very educational.
There is also a small gift shop.
If you want to relax for a few hours or have a picnic, why not visit Manatee Park.
Our experience at Manatee Park
We visited Manatee Park in December 2011.
We were able to see quite a few manatees, but they are kind of hard to see in the pictures.
The park is really nice because of all the wildlife and plants you can see.
When we visited, there was hardly anyone there, so we were able to walk around easily. There is a path around the park including a walkway that goes over water.
